BOOK SUGGESTION THEME: Science
Finding a book about science which is a surefire pick for young children was a challenge! While searching for a book that proposed simple science experiments, I came across "Diego's Animal Science Book".
My daycare children are intrigued by all forms of animal life. Throughout a normal day, they will usually pretend to be tigers, jaguars, horses, bears, dogs and cats. As soon as I laid eyes on this book, I knew it would be popular with them! Of course, Diego, cousin of famous Dora helped spark the flame too...
Basically, since Diego is an Animal Scientist in the rainforest, this book begins with a gorgeous illustration of this habitat. Each page lists interesting facts on various animals found in the rainforest accompanied by pictures.
Even the most well-informed little ones (and daycare workers) are sure to learn interesting facts.
As if that wasn't enough, once children have studied the book as the terrific animal scientists they are, there is a beautiful foldout map of the rainforest with stickers of each animal to place in the scene!
This is an absolutely perfect gift for any little animal lover!
