Cardboard boxes (climbing)
Required material:
- Several heavy cardboard boxes (request empty banana boxes with lids from your local grocer)
- Several newspapers
Pack your cardboard boxes with newspaper. Close the boxes. Let babies paint the boxes or draw on them.
Set the boxes on a safe surface. Let babies explore them.
More adventurous babies will climb onto the boxes. Younger babies will use the boxes to stand up from a sitting position.
If you have several boxes, you may use them to create a barrier between two areas (place the boxes next to each other in a line). Doing this will further encourage babies to climb over them to see what is hiding on the other side!
