Original reading cubes

Shapes are a popular theme with little ones. That is how I got the idea for these reading cubes. Here is what you will need to make your own:

  • Strong cardboard boxes, various sizes
  • Wide adhesive tape, different colors
  • Books, preferably plastic-coated or cardboard
  • Hot glue

Original reading cubesOnce you have gathered your material, here is what you need to do:

  1. Use the adhesive tape to completely wrap the boxes. This will make them more attractive, but also make them sturdier.
  2. Pick six books for each box, associating books with boxes that are approximately the same size (small boxes with small books and large boxes with bigger books).
  3. Use hot glue to glue the back of one book to each side of every box.

That's it! Once your reading cubes are ready, simply set them on the floor. Children will enjoy flipping them on every side to explore the pages of the different books. Of course, you can use books of all kinds to create your reading cubes, but the use of plastic-coated or cardboard books is recommended to avoid the pages being damaged when the books are placed under the cubes.

Have fun creating your own unique reading cubes. Children will love exploring them!
