Simple edible play dough
I like this recipe because it’s much healthier than most of the edible play dough recipes I have seen. I was searching for a recipe that was more toddler friendly when I came across one on mamapapabubba.com that used applesauce and oat cereal.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of oat infant cereal
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- 2 tbsp of coconut oil
- 2 tbsp of boiling water
- Food dye (optional)
Step One
Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl and stir.
Step Two
Add the applesauce, coconut oil, and boiling water. Mix well.
Step Three
Remove the ball of dough from the bowl and knead it until texture is smooth. At this point, you can separate it into smaller balls and add a different color of food coloring to each one if you wish.
My two-year-olds had a lot of fun with this! One of them refused to taste it. Oddly enough, she is the one that is always trying to eat regular play dough. My six and four-year-olds tasted it and said it was pretty good.
